Hopeful Endurance and Committed Action
My Catholic counseling services are dedicated to fortifying Christian marriages, preparing couples for marriage and remarriage, and aiding Christians in coping with life’s challenges. I aim to foster resilience, meaning, and fulfillment in relationships and life roles, using integrative Catholic-Based approaches and therapies. I respect the dignity of all life and cherish the value of marriage and relationships.
With a Pastoral Mental Health Counseling background, I integrate religious teachings and tools into mental health goals. I also support all Christian denominations, drawing from my professional resources, graduate studies, research, and client experiences. Your decision to seek a Christian counselor reflects courage and thoughtfulness, and I appreciate the opportunity to support you on this journey.
Benefits of Catholic Counseling
Incorporates your Faith, Spiritual Tools, and Values
Faith development, spiritual practices (such as prayer, Scripture reading, and partaking in the Sacraments), religious coping, barriers, and values are assessed, supported, and actively incorporated into the pastoral clinical individual and couples counseling process and treatment plan.
Christian-based therapy incorporates Christian faith, practices, values, and acceptance of things beyond our control and understanding. This approach is especially beneficial for clients who are grieving or feeling overwhelmed and who may be dealing with challenges related to their faith, unfulfilled aspirations, trauma, shame, forgiveness, and finding new meaning after a loss.
It is Effective
Catholic-based counseling is highly effective as it integrates sound, evidenced-based counseling techniques with your Catholic faith, values, and practices. Through counseling, you will have a nonjudgmental and focused setting to work towards your goals and process your internal and external issues. The evidenced-based Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy effectively addresses shame and distrust issues stemming from unresolved grief and trauma experiences that impact your relationship with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as well as your human relationships.
It is Collaborative
Clients are encouraged to collaborate with their priests or spiritual directors as they see fit. It’s important to note that Catholic Counseling and Spiritual Direction are different. However, combining both can be beneficial. Addressing individual and relationship issues can help improve relationships and reduce barriers that may affect your relationship with God, faith, vocational development, and spiritual growth.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling involves one-on-one meetings to address internal and external struggles and avoid problematic behaviors, beliefs, feelings, and physical sensations. These struggles can negatively impact relationships, and overall functioning with family, friends, work, school, and God.
I may support you with the following:
– Depression and anxiety
– Death of a family member or friend
– Loss and issues with fertility, job, marriage, identity, and life dreams
– Prenatal and Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma

– Low self-esteem
– Coping with betrayal trauma from a spouse with an addiction to drugs, alcohol, sex, or porn
